New Nude Mag
[visit site]
The New Nude Mag is not a porn site. It is an on-line magazine about photography and the nude. It is of interest to those who like to look at artistic nudes and photographers who take pictures of naked women. It will have no appeal to anyone looking for porn.

This is another site by Petter Hegre who brings us Hegre-Art.com. Like the latter site the promotional tour for New Nude Mag contains everything you will see on the site. Of course to enlarge the thumbnails you will have to join the site. Nevertheless there is an immense amount of content in the tour, more then I have seen on some pay sites. Surfers interested in this sort of thing might want to bookmark the tour. There is an on line news section that is accessible in the tour. The New Nude is actually a print magazine as well as an on line magazine. By joining the site for its annual fee you get 4 quarterly issues of the 100 page magazine printed on museum quality paper. What do you get in the magazine? Issue 3 is featured in the tour. It offers photo shoots from photographers who I guess are well known but their names meaningless to me as well as articles on what makes good photography

There is an article entitled Petter Hegre goes to Bali. He discusses Indonesia's conservative attitudes to public depictions of nudity and gives us 16 color pictures that would be as at home in a travel magazine. He entitles this the Forbidden Nudes. There is an article about Andreas Bitesnich, whoever he is, exposing what makes a good photograph It provides us a handful of images that illustrate my point about treating the nude as landscape. In his case I get the sense more that he treats the nude as a piece of architecture. The text says it better than I ever possibly could. "From this free-flowing approach, the results are oddly disciplined. The nude body in his shots may be curved, twisted and shaped like wet clay or soft metal into sculptural abstraction but become the quintessence of perfection, specimens of ethereal beauty. "Everything is graphical," says Bitesnich, "and has as much to do with space, with the balance within the space that the frame provides."
Looking for something that might begin to be of interest to hunters of porn I check out an article entitled, "Depth and Sensuality", that explores the work of Carla Van de Puttelaar, whoever she is. Eleven photos accompany the article. They depict parts of a woman's body, a hand, a breast, a buttock, a throat, etc. Her work is described as follows, "Carla van de Puttelaar shatters the dichotomy between beauty and the mundane, and somehow bringing out both ethereal and earthy qualities. Her work appears to be slipping in and out of consciousness." The artsy critics seem to love that word "ethereal". I find myself slipping in and out of consciousness reviewing this site. I have to finish now and go get a double long espresso. There are presently 4 issues of the magazine on the site.

Conclusion:
|
New Nude Mag is not a porn site. I am a reviewer of porn sites not an art critic. This is a glossy on line magazine about photography with an apparent focus on the nude. I know photos of nudes can be erotic without being pornographic. Most of the pictures of the nudes I look at here manage to be artistic without being erotic. Membership to the site can only be bought for a year as a minimum. In addition to the on-line magazine you get four editions of the physical magazine sent to you over the course of a year. My guess is that New Nude Mag is no going to have much attraction for the readers of Hunter Porn reviews.
